Some days are filled with laughter, some with happiness
Some days are filled with nonchalance and some are filled with stress
Some days you look around and think you'll be all right
And other times you don't know how you'll make it through the night
So if you're feeling down and skies are looking grey
You start to wonder what to do or even what to say
Never mind the stormy clouds that cover up your eyes
You stand alone but never fail to watch the sun rise
Sometimes you walk alone and, sometimes you walk with friends
Sometimes you fall in love and sometimes it ends
Some times are made for smiling, and some are painted blue
Some times you can't remember there are good times too
And when you're feeling down, and skies are looking dark,
You don't know how to feel the fire, or even just a spark,
Never mind the doom and gloom that cover up your eyes
Just stand up tall and never fail to watch the sun rise

I was alone and afraid
Dressed in neckties and easily swayed
Cemetery silence awaited all my
Aspirations of fame
I was lost in the breeze
Wandering corridors with scuffed up knees
Out of touch with all the other people
As out of touch as me
I was a candle in a forest of vandals
I couldn't get a handle on it
Socks in my sandals, the Sullivans and Randalls
That were hiding in my closet
I tried to mock it, but then I tried to be honest
And I couldn't reach a compromise
Cuz the kites that I tried to fly fell down
Because the clouds were all the wrong size
Simple ways that lead to simple changes
If it's dangerous, find another way
If you can't see why you wouldn't want to
Why'd you want to, what a thing to say
I was alone and afraid
Dressed in black vests and easily made
To do things that I didn't want to do
In a way that sounded like my idea
I was lost in the breeze
Wandering forests with scuffed up trees
As clueless as all the other people who didn't have a place to be
I was a scribbled on page in a teenage rage
To try and fit in the wrong book
And when the battery in all my watches died I realized I was Captain Hook
I was a misfit, dimwitted limpet, clinging to a risky set of rules
Trying to let my dreams get broken down, and build them up with worn out tools
Simple ways that lead to simple changes
